A Variety Night to be held at St James’ Orrell 22nd January 2010.  All you talented people brush up on your acts’ singing dancing musical instruments and watch this space for a rehearsal dates.

Christmas Pantomime:  Cinderella Rockafella will be held at St Francis of Assisi school. Come and enjoy the performance.
 Dates:  Friday 18th December @ 7:30pm and Saturday 19th December @ 7:30pm. Tickets £3 for adults and £2 for children


Childrens’ Church   An out-door Mass to be held this coming summer for the children of the Pastoral Area. Further information to follow

Catechetical Events

Living Faith

 

“A simple introduction to Christian Ministry”.

Your are invited to attend this course which is being offered in our Pastoral Area over four sessions:

Aims of the course:-

a)      To reflect on your identity as a Catholic Christian

b)      To reflect on the promises and responsibilities flowing from baptism.

c)      To develop your understanding of the Church in the context of Leaving Safe Harbours.

Session One: Knowing Who I Am

Will take place on Thursday 14th January 2010 at 7:30pm

Session Two: Believing in God – How God Calls Us

Will take place on Thursday 21st January 2010 at 7:30pm

Session Three: Believing in Jesus

This will take place on Thursday 28th January 2010 at 7:30pm

Session Four: Believing with Others

Will take place on Thursday 4th February 2010 at 7:30pm

All the meetings will be held in the Parish hall at St. Marie’s in Standish. And will finish with light refreshments.

Decided PAL to visit/swap parishes for weekends: (St Teresa’s has done this)

Mass times discussed: agreed no blueprint to be drawn up - deal with as rises

Newsletter planned for 4 times a year

St Joseph’s invite others to St John Rigby’s annual Mass

Pilgrimage planned for February

RCIA: agreed start date and prayers, Skelmersdale and St Teresa’s link after Easter.

Baptism Prep: Skelmersdale offered to receive people from other parishes

Leadership Teams: St Marie’s & St Bernadette’s, St James’ and St Teresa’s met up one with facilitator.

Safeguarding Parish Reps met once, planned to meet again.

Marriage Prep: day course at St Teresa’s open to all.

Children’s Liturgy ‘Open Air Mass’ planned

Variety Social Night planned to take place at St James’

Living Faith formation course planned together

All information for the newsletter should be submitted at least four weeks before the next addition which will be the Easter addition.
